 Resilience Factors in our Youth

 

 

Tony L. Sheppard, Psy.D., CGP, HSPP

 

Dr. Tony L. Sheppard is a clinical psychologist in private practice in Louisville, KY. Dr. Sheppard completed his graduate studies at Spalding University in Louisville. He provides individual, family, and group therapy to children, adolescents, and adults through his private practice. Dr. Sheppard supervises clinical staff and graduate students in both Kentucky and Indiana. Group Psychotherapy with Children, a training curriculum authored by Dr. Sheppard, was published in 2008 by the American Group Psychotherapy Association (AGPA). This organization honored Dr. Sheppard in 2012 by naming him a Fellow (FAGPA). Dr. Sheppard teaches in the School of Professional Psychology at Spalding University and teaches, presents, and lectures at the local, state, and national levels. He is a frequent presenter for the Kentucky Psychological Association, the American Group Psychotherapy Association, The Brook Hospitals and Wellstone Regional Hospital. Dr. Sheppard has presented at the national level on Group Psychotherapy and Non-Suicidal Self-Injury.

 Former WISH-TV anchor, David Barras, interviews DCS Director, Terry Stigdon

 

 

Terry Stigdon, MSN, RN

Director, Indiana Department of Child Services

 

Terry Stigdon was appointed the Director of DCS in 2018 by Governor Eric Holcomb. Prior to taking the reins at DCS, Director Stigdon worked at Riley Hospital for Children for 20 years. She began at Riley as a pediatric intensive care staff nurse and ended her career managing hundreds of health care employees. Stigdon has a bachelor’s degrees in nursing and a master’s degree in nursing leadership and management. Throughout her career, Stigdon has educated and mentored other health care professionals. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Organization of Nurse Executives, the Emergency Nurses Association and the Indiana Emergency Medical Services for Children Advisory Board.

 

David Barras 

David Barras, an Indianapolis institution, was an anchor for WISH-TV for 37 years before he retired last year. Barras is a Chicago native and Miami University graduate. After moving to Indiana, he also obtained a master's degree from Ball State University.
